The September Issue
I have never bought a Vogue September issue nor I intend to (even after watching the film). However, I did like the documentary very much. It is about Anna Wintour, the legendary Editor-in-Chief of Vogue and release of the September Issue of Vogue, the most important issue of all fashion magazines combined, all year long.
She is not the monster depicted by Meryl Streep in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’. She looked more of a person with morals who gets what she wants because she often is right and does what is best for the magazine. She is a control freak and it’s pretty clear that from start to finish it was Anna Wintour who was in control of this movie.
The best part of the film is how it shows the tension between commerce and creativity. Fascinating!
